I remember the smell of strawberry shampoo,
it was calming when I was insane.
Liquid became froth, scent releasing my senses
from mental captivity.
I remember making coffee,
even though I couldn't drink it,
an action so ordinary it reminded me
that my human body was made of matter.
I remember pouring hot wax in my palms,
the heat so intrusive, so loud,
it absorbed my mental vibrations.
Cool, peel, pour again.
I remember running bare foot in the mud,
arches sucking for air,
exhaustion's embrace enveloped my body,
finally the tremors would cease.
